SLATE APPROVED FOR 2008 UFCW INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION

Pre-Retirement Seminars Scheduled

President Harvey Whille is pleased to announce the return of one of our most popular events — our annual Pre-Retirement Seminars.

The seminars are free and open to members who are at least 55 and who have at least nine years of credited pension service. There is no age restriction for members with 30 years or more of credited service.

Local 1262 held nomination meetings for delegates to the Sixth International Convention of the United Food and Commercial Workers at three (3) locations on Wednesday, April 16, 2008.

The recommended slate of delegates presented at the meetings was unopposed. Therefore, under UFCW International By-Laws, the election scheduled for Wednesday, April 30, 2008 will not be held.

The UFCW International Convention is scheduled from Monday, August 18 to Friday, August 22, 2008 in Montreal, Canada.
